Family Quote
"If we don't try, then we don't do; and if we don't do, then why are we here? (From the play: Shenandoah)

I am working on the marriage amendment campaign for UFA and as a regional representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Please take a minute and go to this link and join in on the fight for family. http://www.yesformarriage.com/
I Did It!!!
Okay, I just finished the Old Testiment. Can I just say I am no scripture master mind and it was very hard reading for me. A lot of it was just doing it and I was able to get the flavor of the books but not understanding most of what I read. I don't know if I will do it again in my life time because I missed reading the Book of Mormon so much. I think I will take my self out for a ice creme cone to celebrate!!!!

Hayley's Wisdom Teeth
So far I have not had any children choose to get "stoned" (drunk) so I haven't been exposed to that side of life except when they get their wisdom teeth extracted. The effects of the anesthetic must have simularities. Today was Hayley's turn. As she was helped in the car for the ride home she began rubbing my back very gently. She did this systematically for quite sometime and then started laughing as she knocked off my glasses. She then started hitting the door and grabbing at the steering wheel. Then she broke in the sobs and cried the rest of the way home. I manuvered her to the couch where she broke into laughter. Deserie walked by and Hayley hit her. (hidden hostilities)
I have enjoyed the moments driving my children home from having their wisdom teeth removed. (7 so far) It is definately another side of life. No pictures--- she would never forgive me.

Heather's dorm room
Dorm room and Heather
On Tuesday, i took Heather to college. We flew into Washington D.C. and they lost Heather's luggage. We waited to pick them up the next day when they flew them in from Connecticut. After that, we picked up some things for her dorm, and drove to Buena Vista, Virginia.
Heather's dorm room is brand new this year... She is rooming with a friend from elementary school, and also a girl she hasn't met yet.... I am sure she will have a blast!

This week was full of fun and excitement. My niece, Leslie Aaron and niece Brittney Noble and nephew, Tyler Angle all got married. They are all such great young people and married great people. It was so fun to participate.
At Tyler's sealing the sealer said that they are commanded to cleave to each other. Tyler pulled Mattea close to him (cleaving). And the sealer said that when you cleave there is no space between you, which makes no room for anything to come between each of you. That is how it is supposed to be, that nothing or no one should come between you in thought or deeds.

Today's Grandma Days

We had a family reunion this past weekend with our children and grandchildren. Art and I are definitely not campers, but it is said that camping is the best thing to do with the family. We were away from the t. v. and our own beds. We all had fun fishing, camping, riding four-wheelers. shooting paintball guns, and playing in the water. Jace even set up a treasure hunt for the grand kids where they had to use compasses.

This last week, the girls and I went to Nauvoo. We also took a new convert, Sunny Modig, and Ariel Johnson, Heather and Hayley's friend. It was such a great experience. We found out so much more about Joseph Smith as well as Emma Smith. We attended the pageant and it was really good. It was such a good missionary opportunity. We went to Carthage jail as well as liberty jail. The spirit was so strong on our trip. The girls and i were also able to do baptisms for the dead in the Nauvoo temple. Ariel's father painted the temple and our Unkle Newell Barney donated the carpet, so it was really neat to see it all first hand. All in all, it was a really great trip.
